Rangers are weighing up a move for Racing Santander attacking midfielder Pablo Torre, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The 18-year-old has caught the eye of Gers scouts in recent months and he has been recommended as a transfer target both due to his potential and the fact he could be available on the cheap.

Santander are currently in the third tier of Spanish football and are struggling financially so they would be powerless to resist if the Scottish champions made a reasonable bid for the teenager.

However, it won’t be straightforward to secure Torre’s signature next month, with a number of other high-profile teams also keeping tabs on the midfielder’s development.

Real Madrid are tracking the Spaniard, along with clubs in Italy. Director of Football Ross Wilson may, therefore, have to move quickly if he wants to beat the competition for the player during the January transfer window.
