Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has revealed that he has held discussions over extending his contract at Ibrox.

Manager Steven Gerrard has been keen to tie down the Finnish international to a new deal, but while Kamara confirmed that negotiations are underway, he also hinted he could consider leaving if the right opportunity presents itself:

“There’s been some talks. The season’s been good, obviously, we’ve just become champions. It’s been a success so far. I still have two years left on my contract and there’s still time over the summer to see what will happen.”

Kamara has been linked with a whole host of English clubs over the past year. Former club Arsenal, Brighton, West Ham, Leeds and Sheffield United have all been mentioned as potential destinations.

However, the 25-year-old is seemingly happy to put pen to paper on a new contract if no club makes an approach for him, which will undoubtedly delight fans.

Kamara played the full 90 minutes for Finland as they drew 2-2 at home against Bosnia on Wednesday night in a World Cup qualifier. He is likely to be named in the starting eleven once again when his team take on Ukraine this weekend.
