Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could be sold for a fee “in excess of £15million” according to the Scottish Daily Mail journalist Stephen McGowan.
The usually reliable reporter claims the biggest interest in the Colombian international is coming from Al-Duhail. The Qatari outfit have already brought in a number of star names, including Mario Mandzukic, with clubs in the country looking to spend big ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Whether Morelos would be interested in a move to the Middle East, it seems doubtful. The 23-year-old has expressed a desire to play in a bigger league, and moving to Qatar would not be a big draw for him.
A number of Premier League teams, including Leicester, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and West Ham have all been mentioned as possible destinations for the Colombian. However, the player’s asking price could put off a lot of clubs as many are dealing with the financial ramifications of the global health crisis.
