Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos scored his fourth goal in his last five games during the 2-0 win against Hearts yesterday afternoon.
The 25-year-old has looked like a different player since the arrival of manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and supporters on Twitter have been praising the forward for his recent displays:
The. Main. Man.

Was back to 19-20 Morelos levels today surprised he came off

Looks as though he’s lost a few pounds

The criticism has come his way and deservedly so. I think Sakala has made him up his game and the arrival of a new manager. Long may it continue. If he wants his move that’s the way it will happen.

He seems to be embracing the Gio philosophy and I think the team in general have a bit more about them and actually seem to be enjoying themselves. Long may it continue 🤞👏👏💙🇬🇧🇳🇱❤🏆

It is no coincidence that Morelos’s form upturn has coincided with a change of manager. By all intents and purposes, the Colombian international had a good relationship with previous boss Steven Gerrard but the appointment of van Bronckhorst would have been a wake-up call for the striker.
Morelos has effectively had to prove himself all over again, and he has stepped up to the plate in fine style, impressing particularly in the wins against Sparta Prague and yesterday versus Hearts.
The key now for the Colombian will be to sustain these levels of performance over the coming months and, hopefully, for the rest of the season.
