Celtic and Aberdeen players have both breached lockdown rules leading to a warning from First Minister Nicola Sturgeon that top-flight football could be cancelled if there are any more indiscretions.

Hoops star Boli Bolingoli flew to Spain without permission last week, while Dons players were seen drinking at a bar, breaking rules designed to keep them from being infected by COVID-19.

Rangers fans on Twitter are hoping the SPFL punish the two clubs for putting the Premiership season at risk, with some even hoping for point deductions or forfeited fixtures, using precedence from other European leagues:

The lack of discipline has been pretty shocking. The players involved should know better and there has to be some sort of punishment meted out in order to deter these type of indiscretions recurring in the coming weeks and months.

With Sturgeon having had to speak out about the situation, the behaviour of certain players is simply putting the future of the Scottish game at risk.
