Rangers have agreed a sizeable six-figure sum with Ipswich Town to sell centre-back George Edmundson, according to reports in the local English media.
The defender, who spent the second half of last season out on loan at Derby County, has been on the fringes of the first-team squad since breaking lockdown rules to go to a house party last year.
Edmundson was signed for £700,000 from Oldham Athletic just over three years ago and fans on Twitter were expecting to make more of a profit on the player:

Best of luck to George, I thought he showed a lot of promise but CB is one position that we are not short in, so personally I hope his career kicks on at Ipswich ???

While manager Steven Gerrard did say last month that he wanted to keep Edmundson, his departure always looked likely simply because of the sheer number of centre-halves in the first-team squad.
With Jack Simpson having been signed in January, and Nikola Katic nearing a return to full fitness, the Light Blues will still have five options to choose from even after Edmundson’s exit.
