Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo could be a major doubt for the game against Dundee United after manager Steven Gerrard omitted to provide an update on his fitness following the international break.

The Light Blues boss delivered positive news on the likes of Jermain Defoe, Cedric Itten and Jordan Jones, but did not mention the Nigerian international when talking about who could be close to returning to action:

“It has also been a chance for us to get injured players closer to being back into full training, so Jermain Defoe is on the verge of that, Cedric Itten is on the verge of that and Jordan Jones, his injury is not as bad as first feared.”

On top of that, supporters on Twitter have noticed that Aribo is nowhere to be seen in the latest training ground photos posted by the club on social media:

Aribo got off to a great start this season, scoring one goal in his first three appearances, but he has missed the last three games due to an ankle problem, and many feel his creativity and goal threat has been missed, particularly in the 0-0 draw against Livingston last month.

Fans will be hoping the 24-year-old is not far from making his comeback as they head into an important run of fixtures over the next month.
