Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is on West Ham’s shortlist of targets for the January transfer window, according to reports in England.

The France international has been pursued by the Hammers in the past and it remains to be seen whether the 34-year-old could be convinced to leave Stamford Bridge.

It is believed David Moyes is keen on finding a replacement for Sebastien Haller, who has flattered to deceive in recent games, but supporters on Twitter are split on whether Giroud would be the right fit:

Considering Moyes favours a more mobile number 9, Giroud would hardly be the player you would think of as being ideal for the system. He would, though, be more capable of holding up the ball than Haller who has struggled with the physicality of the Premier League.

There are also question marks over whether Giroud will even leave Chelsea, with the Frenchman having played more regularly in recent weeks, so we shall see if the Irons make a bid when the window opens next month.
