West Ham centre-back Fabian Balbuena put in an impressive display in the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa last night.
The Paraguayan international was authoritative and kept the dangerous Ollie Watkins quiet for most of the game. Supporters on Twitter feel the defender should be getting more recognition for his recent performances:
Balbuena for me, absolutely outstanding.

Quietly going about his work, going under the radar as Ogbonna has been so good and Cress has been so improved.

Balbuena struggled to get much game time in the second half of last season under David Moyes, and he started this campaign on the bench as well.
However, after captaining the team in the 5-1 win over Hull City in the Carabao Cup back in September, he has not missed a single minute of first-team action and he has been going from strength to strength.
Balbuena has managed to keep Issa Diop out of the team and going by recent displays, the 29-year-old looks set for a very long run in the starting eleven, injury permitting. The centre-half has impressively managed to turn round his career at the London Stadium.
