Former Everton and Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has credited West Ham manager David Moyes for his shrewd business in the transfer market this summer.

The Hammers brought in three players late on in the transfer window: Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, Alex Kral from Spartak Moscow on loan, as well as Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow.

Campbell says he was particularly impressed by the decision to bring in Vlasic, who he believes has come on leaps and bounds since his time with Everton:

“They have strengthened in certain areas and brought in some good players like Vlasic. Vlasic has improved immensely from his time at Everton. He is a renowned player now, a full international, he’s a brilliant signing. Moyes has gone about his business pretty quietly and he’s building a really good squad there at West Ham. If there are injuries they have enough players to pick up the slack. That was the big problem for West Ham last season. They have definitely strengthened this summer 100%.”

There was a lot of unrest among West Ham fans earlier in the summer when the Irons had done very little business in the transfer market, but the late arrivals of players like Vlasic, have certainly lifted spirits.

Many still feel that Moyes should have targeted a backup option for Michail Antonio but, as Campbell points out, the squad has been strengthened to fight on all fronts this campaign.
