West Ham are weighing up a possible summer bid for Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Brennan Johnson, according to ExWHUemployee.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, the reliable inside source revealed that the Hammers are tracking the 20-year-old along with other teams:

“Other players that we are keeping tabs on are potential summer offers. One of them is Brennan Johnson. He plays for Nottingham Forest. I think he’s a winger, very highly rated and very impressive. There are a number of clubs looking at him.”

Johnson was linked with a £14m move to Brentford in December, while the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the player.

The Wales international spent last season out on loan at Lincoln City, but he has made a big impact in the Championship this campaign, having scored nine goals and provided five assists in 31 appearances for Steve Cooper’s side.

Johnson can play in multiple positions, having been deployed as a left-winger, on the right flank, as a support striker and as an out-and-out forward on occasion. In recent weeks, he has been in red hot form and West Ham scouts will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on his development.
