West Ham winger Felipe Anderson has not exactly been firing on all cylinders since the Premier League returned earlier this month.
The Brazilian was disappointing in the 2-0 defeat against Wolves and he did not put in a good performance when he came on versus Spurs on Tuesday night either.
Supporters on Twitter were expecting to see a lot more from Anderson, who cost £36m, and they haven’t been shy with their opinions of his recent displays:
From day one I said he was rubbish, some of the stick I took for that!

I’m done with Anderson. If you’re in a relegation battle, he is the last player you need. Floating around, miss placing passes, no tracking back, just a lazy nothing performance. Hope we can ship him out this summer, he does nothing for us!!

When did we last win 4-0? I have been saying this all season. He tackles like a frightened 12 year old and shuts his eyes when going for a header. Won’t even take on the full back which is his job. Can’t think of a bigger wimp to have ever played for us ⚒

We paid £40mil? We’ll be lucky to get 10…

He’s been dreadful all year. He’s just no better than an occasional showboater.

It’s probably best not to judge the 27-year-old on his two most recent games for the Hammers as he is clearly short of match fitness and he has been playing in an unfamiliar role.
However, Anderson’s overall form this campaign has been a major disappointment, having scored just one goal and contributed five assists in 26 appearances.
The playmaker has attempted to explain his poor form by citing his failure to change his game once opposition defences began to mark him more. Even so, that wouldn’t explain some of the performances he has put in this campaign.
