TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara says West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek would easily be a first-team regular for Manchester United if the Czech international were to move to Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old was mentioned as a potential replacement for Nemanja Matic earlier in the season and speaking about Soucek, O’Hara claims the player’s ability to get forward and score would instantly improve the Red Devils in the middle of the park:

“If you’re Soucek and you’re having the season you are and say Man United come along, because Man United need a player like him, he’d walk into their team with his energy, his runs and scores goals. It’s hard to keep hold of someone when you’ve got big teams coming in for you.”

Soucek did suggest last month that he was flattered by the interest being shown in him from the likes of United and Bayern Munich, but the Hammers are very unlikely to let the midfielder leave on the cheap.

They spent £19m on Soucek to bring him in on a permanent basis from Slava Prague last summer and, considering his performances for West Ham this season, his value has undoubtedly skyrocketed. There is no indication that United are actively pursuing him currently so fans should rest easy about the Czech star’s future.
