Wolfsburg sporting director Jorg Schmadtke has confirmed that the Bundesliga side will listen to offers for striker Wout Weghorst.

Reports in recent months have linked the Dutch international with a move to West Ham, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. It is believed that Wolfsburg have an agreement to sell the player if a team matches their €30m (£26m) price tag and Schmadtke says that they are waiting for a bid that meets their demands:

“If an offer comes that satisfies all parties, then things change.”

Weghorst did have an excellent season for Wolfsburg, scoring 25 goals in 41 appearances, and the 28-year-old has been targeted by English teams before.

He would certainly fit the profile that Hammers boss David Moyes is looking for in a forward. While the Dutchman is tall at 6ft 6, he does have a high work rate too, so he could certainly do a job as the lone frontman.

Whether he would have the physicality to play in the Premier League, though, it is debatable, and he is likely to be just one of a number of options West Ham are considering as they hunt for a new number nine.
