West Ham supporters have begun dreaming about a potential title challenge after Sunday’s 3-2 win over Liverpool.
The Hammers currently sit third in the Premier League table, three points off leaders Chelsea and level with second-place Manchester City after eleven games.
While some fans on Twitter were daring to hope that an unlikely title tilt is on the cards, others feel getting into the top four or into Europe again is more likely:
If we are still there in February then definitely

Calm down lads

No. We need to be realistic. We simply don’t have the squad depth to compete with Chelsea, City and Liverpool!
Another Top 6 finish this season is still an incredible achievement. If we do that and bring in extra depth next summer, then we can look further

If we’re still close to 1st place by Christmas then yeah

There is no harm in supporters getting their hopes up, especially considering none of the clubs at the top of the table look likely to run away with things this season.
Chelsea, City and Liverpool have already dropped points against teams they weren’t expected to and, if the trend does go on for the rest of the campaign, there is a possibility that West Ham can hang in there.
A lot will have to go in their favour, though, so aiming for a top-four or top-six finish is probably more realistic at this stage.
