West Ham should have wingback Arthur Masuaku in contention to face Tottenham this weekend despite being sent home from international duty.

He was released early by the Democratic Republic of Congo at the weekend amid fears he had sustained an injury but the defender has confirmed he only withdrew from the squad as a precaution.

Ryan Fredericks picked up a hamstring injury during the 4-0 win against Wolves last month but the right-back is expected to return to training soon after the international break. Whether he’ll be ready to face Spurs, though, it remains to be seen.

Issa Diop has not featured for the Hammers since the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal after testing positive for COVID-19 but he is now back training with the first-team squad and should be ready to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

There was also a virus scare for Czech pair Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek but reports of a positive COVID-19 test were later denied with both players starting for their country against Israel at the weekend.
