Chelsea could look to finance a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice by selling N’Golo Kante, according to reports in the UK
The Blues have already spent almost £150m on players this summer and, with the London club expected to shell out another £90m on Kai Havertz, there won’t be any money left to sign Rice.
It is believed the Hammers would demand at least £75m for Rice, and it is thought that Chelsea would be prepared to offload Kante for around £60m in order to pay for the England international. Supporters have been debating whether they’d actually consider a swap deal between the two players:

If it was Kante plus money maybe, would be quality for a season or two until we get a proper replacement.

No way. We need to keep Dec and build the team around him. Future England Captain.

Kante is unlikely to be interested in a move to the London Stadium anyway but it does seem as though Chelsea won’t be making a bid for Rice anytime soon unless they can find a way of raising funds between now and deadline day.
