Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been put up for sale, according to Goal‘s Gunners correspondent Charles Watts.

It was reported at the start of last week that the London club had offered a new contract to the 22-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates, but the player is not expected to sign on to fresh terms.

That means Arsenal have reluctantly decided to sell Nketiah, with Watts confirming that Mikel Arteta’s side don’t expect to get much in a way of a transfer fee:

“Basically, Eddie is for sale. There were talks about getting him to sign a new contract, and if that was the case he probably would have gone out on loan next season with Arsenal hoping he’d have a good season and his value would have gone up and they would have sold him the following year for more money.”

“It doesn’t look like that contract will be signed, so now Arsenal are openly inviting offers for Eddie Nketiah, so it’s about finding the right club for him and getting a decent transfer fee. He’s in the last year of his contract so you wouldn’t expect they’re going to get absolute masses for him now, unfortunately.”

Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that West Ham, Crystal Palace, Watford and Bayer Leverkusen are the four main clubs interested in signing the former England Under 21 international.

It is not known where he fits into David Moyes’ list of targets but his availability for a relatively low fee may well tempt the Hammers into making a formal bid for the player.
