West Ham are very much still in the frame to sign Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic, according to Calciomercato.com. The Italian website claims the Hammers are “ambitious and ready” to compete with rivals for the Serbian international.
Manchester United have enquired about the 25-year-old, with Tottenham and Everton also believed to be in the mix. Chelsea are another team who have been linked by the same site over the past week, so the Hammers are going to have to fight off a number of teams for the defender’s signature.
Milenkovic was subject to a bid from David Moyes’ side last year but Fiorentina were demanding too much at the time. However, the centre-back’s contract is due to expire in twelve months and the Viola now only want €30m (£26m).
With so many teams involved in the race for the player, it is very difficult to tell who will secure his services when the transfer window reopens.
