West Ham have joined Crystal Palace and Lille in pursuing Torino fullback Ola Aina, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.com.
The website reports that El Toro are “willing to listen to offers” for the 25-year-old, who will have only twelve months left on his contract at the end of the season.
Aina came through Chelsea’s academy before joining Torino on a permanent basis back in the summer of 2019. He did return to England for a season-long loan spell at Fulham last campaign but the Nigerian has since re-established himself as a first-team player in the Italian top flight.
Over the last few seasons, the defender has been mostly deployed as a wingback but he can also play in a back four.
With Ryan Fredericks’ contract at the London Stadium set to expire this summer, Aina could well be seen as a decent replacement. His flexibility to play on either wing means he could be a backup option for both Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell.
