Manchester City and Manchester United are among the clubs closely monitoring 17-year-old Oxford, who is currently involved in a contractual stand-off with West Ham.

Newly-promoted Bundesliga club Red Bull Leipzig have already made a £10m offer for Oxford that would have netted the youngster £20,000-a-week, but it was rejected by Hammers chief David Sullivan.

Newly-promoted Bundesliga club Red Bull Leipzig have already made a £10m offer for Oxford that would have netted the youngster £20,000-a-week, but it was rejected by Hammers chief David Sullivan.

The French newspaper reports that the Hammers are prepared to make a bid for the 23-year-old, who has also been linked with Arsenal, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Tottenham in the past few months.

Despite being relegated to Ligue Two and promising Guirassy that he can leave the club this summer, Amiens have stubbornly kept to their €20m (£18m) valuation.

Even though the global health crisis has had a serious impact on club finances, the French side still feel that the striker could be sold at their original asking price.

Whether that will change as and when the transfer window opens, we shall have to wait and see. Although it is clear that Hammers boss David Moyes could do with reinforcements up front, Amiens would need to significantly reduce their demands in order for the London club to firm up their interest.
