West Ham could miss out on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, with Leicester having made a breakthrough in their negotiations to sign the Frenchman, according to reports in England.

The Hammers have been tracking the 23-year-old, along with the likes of Arsenal and Southampton, but the Foxes have now moved to the front of the queue for the forward.

It is believed that Brendan Rodgers’ side have come to a compromise over Edouard’s asking price. Celtic were reportedly holding out for around £20m so it’s likely they have been able to negotiate down the amount required.

Whether West Ham were ever genuinely in the running for the France Under 21 international, it is up for debate. Manager David Moyes has prioritised the signing of a striker this summer, but the likes of Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham, Red Bull Salzburg’s Patson Daka and Brentford’s Ivan Toney are all thought to be higher on his list of targets.
