West Ham are keen on snapping up Barcelona right-back Moussa Wague, according to reports in the Senegalese media.

The Hammers originally tried to sign the 21-year-old on loan during the January transfer window but the player opted to move to Ligue One side Nice instead.

However, despite having a €10m (£9m) purchase option on Wague, the French club opted against keeping him and sent him back to the Camp Nou at the start of this month.

With the Senegalese international having no future at Barca, the Catalan club have reportedly put him up for sale for around €9m (£8m).

West Ham are keen on taking Wague after they lost Jeremy Ngakia on a free transfer, and they will likely make a move for the player once their Premier League status is assured.

There may, though, face competition from Fenerbahce who are also said to be looking to sign the fullback this summer.
