West Ham are the only club so far to “officially come forward” and make an offer for Inter Milan attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to FCInternews.it.

The Italian website claims the Hammers tabled a loan bid for the Danish international but the Nerazzurri are not currently interested in letting the player leave on a temporary basis unless a purchase clause is included.

Inter are hoping that another team enters the battle for Eriksen. Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be named Paris Saint-Germain manager very soon and it is believed his past connection with the player at Spurs could lead to a swap deal involving Leandro Paredes.

Another potential destination is thought to be Arsenal. The Gunners’ technical director Edu is keen on signing the 28-year-old, but manager Mikel Arteta is not. Were there to be a change of manager at the Emirates, FCInternews report that the likelihood of a transfer would increase.

It appears then that West Ham’s chances of signing Eriksen on loan very much rely on no other team being prepared to match Inter’s demands before the transfer window closes next month.
