Vitoria Guimaraes will only let Marcus Edwards leave the club if they receive an offer in the region of €15m (£13.75m), according to reports in the Portuguese media.

West Ham, along with Crystal Palace, Southampton, Fulham, Brentford and Bournemouth, are all said to be keeping tabs on the winger but his asking price could prove to be a major stumbling block.

The main reason for Vitoria’s high price tag is that they owe 50% of any future transfer fee to Tottenham, who allowed Edwards to leave for Portugal in September last year.

The 22-year-old’s first year at his new club went well, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists in 36 appearances but he has been far less effective this season, with only one goal and two assists so far.

Edwards’ form, combined with his price tag, may well put off West Ham and other suitors from making a bid for the former England Under 20 international.
