West Ham should have 10000 fans in the London Stadium for their final game of the season against Southampton, if the government’s proposals to relax lockdown restrictions go ahead as planned.

Under the new guidelines, from May 17th, outdoor venues like football stadiums will be allowed to be a quarter full or have up to 10,000 supporters in attendance.

It means the Premier League‘s final round of fixtures on May 23rd, including West Ham’s clash versus the Saints, will have fans present.

At the moment, the FA Cup final on May 15th and the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City and Tottenham on April 25th will have to be played behind closed doors as they are scheduled to take place before the restrictions are lifted.

However, it is believed they could be used as test events to ensure that games after the lockdown go ahead safely. While there are still three months remaining without fans, it’s good to know that crowds are finally set to return to football grounds across England.
