Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is keen on a move to West Ham, according to reports in the UK.
The former Chelsea and Bournemouth player is also attracting interest from Newcastle, who are managed by his ex-boss Eddie Howe, but the Dutchman is said to prefer a switch to a team who are competing at the right end of the table.
Supporters on Twitter are mostly behind a move for Ake, although some are concerned about the 26-year-old’s injury record:
Would be a great signing.

Injury prone & not the best CB but he’ll do for 6 months, if we do get him. 😂

Not for me thanks…looks decent in a great side like Man City but at Bournemouth he was bang average. I’d prefer a proper centre back!

Ake would be a good addition another goal scoring center half

With both Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna sidelined with long-term injuries, snapping up a centre-back will be a priority for Hammers boss David Moyes in January.
Whether City are prepared to let Ake go, though, it is questionable. Manager Pep Guardiola would be reluctant to allow one of his four senior centre-halves to leave midway through the season.
Other players, such as Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Liverpool’s Nat Phillips have been mentioned as other options and we shall see who Moyes eventually goes for.
