West Ham came up against Dominic Calvert-Lewin in their 2-1 win over Everton yesterday afternoon. The striker is reportedly a transfer target for manager David Moyes and there is some debate among supporters about whether he is a good enough player.

Fans had a chance to see the England international, who is valued at £60m, in the flesh, and there was a mixed reaction to his performance on Twitter:

Calvert-Lewin didn’t do an awful lot yesterday but there are some mitigating circumstances. Everton are struggling badly at the moment, and their away record is one of the worst in England.

It should also be pointed out that Calvert-Lewin had three months out injured earlier this season, and he has struggled to put together a consistent run of games since then.

With Arsenal also said to be pursuing the 25-year-old, it will be interesting to see whether the Hammers do challenge their London rivals for the player’s signature this summer.
