Brentford are lining up a £15m bid for Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer, according to reports in the English media.
It is believed that the Bees have already had a £12m offer, plus £3m in add-ons, turned down by the Hoops but, with the Premier League side now prepared to pay more upfront, the likelihood is that the proposal will be accepted.
Supporters on Twitter have mixed feelings about Ajer’s potential departure. Some think it is an excellent deal, considering his contract situation, while others are flummoxed as to why the Norwegian would be interested in moving to Brentford:

15m for a player in the last year of his contract, with no interest in an extension, is a great deal.

There had been some reports that Celtic were holding out for £20m so we shall see if the transfer goes through or not. In any case, it does seem to be very good business, considering that Ajer has less than a year remaining on his current deal and had no intention of signing an extension.
