Celtic may get involved in the battle to sign Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
The reporter, who is generally reliable when it comes to transfer stories, was asked by a fan on Twitter whether the former Swiss Under 21 international could end up moving to Ipswich when he also mentioned the Hoops’ interest:
Ipswich want him but Dundee United will try for an auction … and Celtic may take part. https://t.co/VTZRu4TWLv

New Celtic head coach Ange Postecoglou will likely be prioritising a new number one goalkeeper and the Scottish club have already been linked with Newcastle’s Freddie Woodman and Brighton’s Maty Ryan as potential targets.
Siegrist is out of contract next summer, so while Nixon says that Dundee United will try to auction the player off, they don’t really have much leverage.
The 29-year-old would be a cheap option to strengthen a key position, and many supporters would see it as just another example of the Hoops refusing to pay up to sign top-quality players.
