Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe is struggling to get game time at the Gunners and it has led to speculation that the Ivorian international could be sold for a cut-price fee.
Liverpool were reportedly interested in the 26-year-old before he moved to the Emirates in 2019 but, when asked whether the Reds should consider going back in for the player, fans on Twitter were dead against the idea:
Sarr is miles better, this guy is just an Ivorian Stewart Downing

On the face of it, Pepe’s numbers are not awful. 25 goals and 18 assists in 95 appearances for Arsenal wouldn’t be seen as a bad return if he had cost a relatively low amount, but you would expect a lot more for £72m.
When you watch him play, the Ivorian clearly has talent, but he is very limited in what he can do. The winger doesn’t possess lightning pace whilst he is very reliant on his left foot.
With Pepe failing to impress during his two and a half years at the Gunners, it is probably safe to say that the ship has sailed on a move to Anfield.
