Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has turned down the latest contract offer from the club and has asked to leave, according to reports in the English media.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta would like the 22-year-old to stay at the Emirates but the forward is keen on getting more game time.
Supporters on Twitter agree that selling Nketiah in the January transfer window would probably be best for all parties:
Get rid of him to Newcastle or something.

A good few clubs short of goals right now (Brighton, Norwich, Newcastle), and he could do well elsewhere. Wish him luck, get as much ££ as we can. He might be the next Andy Cole, who knows, but let’s risk it.

If he wants to go, let him. As much as I like Eddie, he’s going to struggle for game time and with Martinelli and Balogun showing their talent it’s only going to make it harder for him.

Definitely sell Nketiah, it just has not had the chance with Arsenal in the PL. A move abroad could work for him if he’s to get goals. Maybe a move 🇩🇪 or another Prem club like Newcastle or Brighton

The likes of Nice and Borussia Monchengladbach are believed to be interested in signing Nketiah so we shall see if any teams come in with bids for the player in the New Year.
With his current deal expiring at the end of the season, though, he could well sign a pre-contract agreement with another club and see out the final six months of his time with the Gunners. Considering that he wants to be playing football, though, getting a move in January could still be preferable for the player.
