Liverpool are one of the teams interested in signing Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, according to reports in the German media.
The 26-year-old is believed to be unhappy with his lack of game time at the Etihad Stadium, and the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keeping tabs on the player.
Considering the way Sterling manufactured his move to City five years ago, this latest development has been met by a rather frosty response from fans on Twitter:
Sterling is a finished player we don’t need him #YNWA

The management should work on new contracts for Salah and Mane— mohammed aljishi (@mjishi69) October 22, 2021
Sterling burned all of his bridges when he decided to force his switch to City and the reaction from supporters is not surprising. On top of the antipathy towards the player, his wage demands would also likely rule out a transfer to the Reds anyway.
The England international has also expressed his interest in moving abroad so if he does leave the Etihad, his next destination is likely to be on the continent.
