West Ham have joined the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle in the race to sign Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, according to reports in the Portuguese media.
The Uruguayan international has been tipped for big things after scoring eight goals in just 11 league appearances so far this season, with other clubs (such as Chelsea and Liverpool) having also scouted the forward in recent months.
Supporters on Twitter are uncertain about whether the Hammers should go after Nunez, considering the cost of the potential transfer:
He’s evolved in to a decent player.

Benfica are not believed to be interested in selling Nunez next month, and with a release clause of €150m (£127m), it may lead to West Ham moving onto other targets fairly quickly.
Manager David Moyes will be very keen to reinforce the forward line when the January transfer window opens, but there is likely to be better value for money than Nunez on the market.
