These Q&As explain how we protect your privacy especially when you use our Website  or App or play our Fantasy game.

If you are under 13 please keep reading! You may need your parent/guardian to help you. You cannot register for a Premier League account without their permission.

1. Who are you?

We are the Premier League. We control the Website, the App and the Fantasy game. We make sure they are run properly and do not break the law.

2. What is Personal Data?

This is any information which tells us who you are. That means things like your name and where you live. It could also include other things like your photograph.

3. What kind of Personal Data do you collect about me?

You do not have to register to just use the Website

If you want to play the Fantasy game or use the App then you do have to register.  You must have the permission of your parent/guardian to do this.

When you register we collect your: name, email address, date of birth, gender and country/region of residence. You can choose whether to tell us other things.

Even if you do not register, we may collect your personal data through the Website or App if you choose to send us things, for example, if you enter a competition.  Ask your parent/guardian for permission before you do this.  Never tell us private things about you or your family.         

When you use the Website and App or play the Fantasy game some information about what you are doing and your computer/device is collected automatically, like the pages you look at and for how long. We also use small pieces of data called cookies. They are often used to remember useful information, such as your login details, and can help you use the Website. We do not try and tell who you are from this information.   

If you go to Premier League matches or other events, we may collect your personal data when we film or photograph those events.

4. How do you collect my Personal Data?

Most of the time, we collect Personal Data from you directly – for example, when you register for a Premier League account.

We also collect some information automatically about your computer/device.

5. How do you use my Personal Data?

We only use your Personal Data if we are allowed to by law. In particular, we will use your Personal Data as follows, where your parent/guardian allows:

  • To provide the Website and the App.
  • To run competitions, including the Fantasy game, which you enter.
  • To send you emails and allow our Clubs and/or our official Commercial Partners to do this (please read the next Q below).

6. Why do I receive emails?

When you register a Premier League account you are asked if you want to receive emails with information from us or your favourite Clubs or the Commercial Partners who sponsor us. 

We will only do this if your parent/guardian agrees. You and they can change your minds at any time if you no longer want to receive this information (please read the next Q below).

7. How do I stop receiving emails?

You can tell us to stop sending emails at any time. Ask your parent/guardian to help with this:

  • By updating your Email Preferences;.
  • By using the ‘unsubscribe’ link in an email; or
  • By contacting us at info@premierleague.tv.

We may still need to send service or legal emails to you from time to time.

If you have chosen to receive emails from a Club, and you no longer wish to receive communications directly from that Club, you should contact them directly to inform them. The privacy policy and contact details for each Club are available here.

8. Do you give my Personal Data to anyone else?

We need to give your Personal Data to other people who help us to provide the Website and App including to run the Fantasy game and other competitions.  We are still in control of that data.

Where you and your parent/guardian allow us to, we also give your Personal Data to your favourite Clubs and our Commercial Partners.  They control that data.

We may have to give your Personal Data to other people if the law says we have to.

9. Do you send my Personal Data to other countries?

We are in the UK and we will usually only keep your Personal Data in this country.

However, sometimes we might have to sends your Personal Data to other countries.

10. How do you keep my Personal Data safe?

We protect your Personal Data from being accidentally lost or used without permission.

For example, we use a special code so that your Personal Data cannot be read by the wrong people. We also ask you to use a password to access your Premier League account. You must keep this password secret and only tell it to your parent/guardian.

11. How long do you keep my Personal Data?

We will only keep your Personal Data for as long as we need to do the things above.

If you register and your parent/guardian does not give permission within 21 days your account and your information will be deleted immediately.

12. What can I do about my Personal Data?

The law says that you can do things, or ask us to do things, about your Personal Data.  For example, you can:

  • ask us to explain what Personal Data we have collected about you;
  • in some circumstances, ask us to stop using your Personal Data or to delete your Personal Data;
  • ask us to make changes to your Personal Data if it is wrong.
13. Can I delete my Personal Data?

You can permanently delete your Premier League account and your Personal Data at any time. You can do this by following the steps in your account. We also explain how to do this in our full privacy policy. 1. Who are you?

We are the Football Association Premier League Limited. You will know us as the Premier League. We control the Website, the App and the Fantasy game. We make sure they are run properly and do not break the law.

We are a Controller. That means that we are responsible for deciding how we use the Personal Data that we collect about you and for making sure that it is used in a way that complies with Data Protection Laws.

2. What is Personal Data?

This is any information from which you can be identified. That means things like your name and where you live. It could also include other things like your photograph or social media username.

3. What kind of Personal Data do you collect about me?

We collect and use different types of Personal Data depending on how you use our Website and App and how we interact with you.

You do not have to register to just use the Website. If you want to play the Fantasy game or use the App then you do have to register. When you register we collect your: name, email address, date of birth, gender and country/region of residence. You can choose whether to tell us other things like your phone number and post code.

Even if you do not register, we may collect your personal data through the Website or App if you choose to send us things, for example, if you enter a competition. You should never tell us private things about you or your family.

5. How do you use my Personal Data?

We only use your Personal Data if we are allowed to by law. In particular, we will use your Personal Data:

  • To provide the Website and the App, as well as other services that we offer to you (which we call the Services) in an effective, efficient and accurate way, including as necessary for testing, maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data.
  • To run competitions, including the Fantasy game, which you enter, including selecting the winners, delivering prizes and publishing results.
  • To send you emails to inform you of news, offers, events and competitions which we think that you might like and allow our Clubs and/or our official Commercial Partners to do this (please read the next Q below).

Usually we collect your Personal Data on a voluntary basis, because you asked us or agreed to us collecting and using your Personal Data to provide the Services. However, please note that if you decline to provide certain mandatory Personal Data, you may not be able to access certain Services and we may be unable to fully respond to any questions that you send to us.

6. Why do I receive emails?

When you register a Premier League account you are asked if you want to receive emails with information from us or your favourite Clubs or the Commercial Partners who sponsor us. 

You can change your mind at any time if you no longer want to receive this information (please read the next Q below).

8. Do you give my Personal Data to anyone else?

We need to give your Personal Data to other people who help us provide the Website and App (including to run the Fantasy game and other competitions) so that they can provide services to us or to you on our behalf (like delivering newsletters) or where you have agreed or asked that we do so (like when you enter a joint competition). We might also need to share your Personal Data publicly via the media, social media, or on the Website or App (like when you have shared a comment on social media or if you have won a competition). We are still in control of that data.

Where you allow us to, we also give your Personal Data to your favourite Clubs and our Commercial Partners. They control that data.

We may have to give your Personal Data to other people if the law says we have to.

9. Do you send my Personal Data to other countries?

We are in the UK and we will usually only keep your Personal Data in this country.

However, sometimes we might have to send your Personal Data to other countries.

10. How do you keep my Personal Data safe?

We put in place security measures to protect your Personal Data from being accidentally lost or used without permission.

For example, we use encryption so that your Personal Data cannot be accessed in an unauthorised way. We also ask you to use a password to access your Premier League account. You must keep this password secret (you can tell it to your parent/guardian if you want but you shouldn’t tell it to anyone else).

11. How long do you keep my Personal Data?

We will only keep your Personal Data for as long as we need to do the things above.

If you register and we find out that you are in fact under 13, we may delete your account and your information immediately.

12. What can I do about my Personal Data?

The law says that you can do things, or ask us to do things, about your Personal Data.  For example, you can:

  • ask us to explain what Personal Data we have collected about you and ask for a copy of it;
  • ask us to stop sending information to you;
  • ask us to make changes to your Personal Data if it is wrong;
  • in some circumstances, ask us to stop using your Personal Data, to limit certain uses of your Personal Data or to delete all your Personal Data;
  • in some circumstances, if you have given Consent, take back that

13. Can I delete my Personal Data?

You can permanently delete your Premier League account and your Personal Data at any time. You can do this by following the steps in your account. We also explain how to do this in our full privacy policy. If you log back in to your account during the 21 day period the account will be reactivated.
