City And United Both Miss Out With PL Rival Poised To Seal 6M Deal For Colombian Star

Wolves have beaten Manchester City and Manchester United to the signing of Atletico Nacional centre-back Yerson Mosquera, according to reports in the UK.

The 20-year-old is believed to have snubbed moves to Manchester, as well as a switch to Belgian side Club Brugge, as he thinks he will get more first-team opportunities at Molineux.

Mosquera does not yet have a senior cap to his name for Colombia, but he has made appearances for his country at Under 20 level, and that appears to have been enough for him to be granted a work permit, along with his participation for Nacional in the Copa Libertadores.

It is said that Wolves will pay around £6m for the defender, which is quite a high sum considering that the player has only played 24 matches at senior level. Even so, he appears to be a promising young prospect.

City have, though, sealed a deal for another South American starlet, with it being confirmed that they have snapped up Brazilian midfielder Metinho from Fluminense.
