Manchester City are close to agreeing a deal to sign Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella, according to reports in the Spanish media.
It is believed that the 23-year-old may only cost €30m (£25m), leading to many fans on Twitter to say it would be an excellent piece of business if they manage to pull it off:
That’s lowkey a steal we signed Mendy for 50mill

Supporters would be wise to wait until some reliable journalists confirm the claims before getting too excited about Cucurella moving to the Etihad.
City are believed to be interested in Cucurella, with manager Pep Guardiola looking to strengthen his options on the left-hand side of defence, but they are expected to face stiff competition from Chelsea, who are also keen on signing the Spaniard.
Reports in the UK have suggested that Cucurella’s price tag is closer to £45m so it would be a massive surprise if the fullback is available for £20m below that figure.
