Manchester United have reportedly registered their interest in Thomas Tuchel, just in case the German decides to leave Chelsea amidst the club’s ongoing off-the-pitch problems.
The Red Devils have not prioritised the 48-year-old in their pursuit of a new manager as they don’t believe there is a realistic chance of hiring him at this stage. Nonetheless, it has got a lot of fans talking on Twitter:

I can’t see Tuchel leaving Chelsea tbh despite what Chelsea are going through. We need to focus our priorities on Ten Hag

yeah all big clubs are set with their managers and PSG, so yeah if Tuchel really leaves and United needs a manager, there won’t be too much of a problem

Tuchel’s situation at Stamford Bridge is certainly not stable. While he has spoken out about being happy to continue as Chelsea manager, there are likely to be some pressing times ahead in the coming months, unless the club is sold quickly.
With that in mind, United could well take advantage of the uncertainty in order to secure his signature. As things stand, though, it does appear that the club’s search for a new manager is currently focused on two names: Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag.
