REPORT: United Have Made 9 Cap Brazilian International A ‘Key Summer Target’

Manchester United have made Ajax winger Antony a “key summer target” according to The Times reporter Charlotte Duncker.

It was claimed in the Brazilian media that the Red Devils had tabled a €60m (£51.7m) offer for the 22-year-old but, while Duncker believes talks are “not thought to be at an advanced stage”, he is on the list of attacking options that manager Erik ten Hag is keen on pursuing:

Antony worked under ten Hag for two seasons at Ajax, having arrived from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2020. He has since gone on to make nine appearances for his country.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also scouted the Brazilian in the past but it does appear as if United will have a free run at signing the player.

Any formal bid for Antony is still, though, likely to be some way off. The club are currently fully focused on recruiting a midfielder, with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong the number one option.
