United Weighing Up 60M Alternative If Varane Deal Falls Through

Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane is thought to be the Red Devils’ main target, but there are still doubts over whether the Frenchman will actually leave the Bernabeu.

Contingency plans have, therefore, been put in place and Kounde is now said to be the likeliest ‘plan B’ with Sevilla believed to be more than willing to sell the 22-year-old for the right price.

At the moment, the La Liga side’s sporting director Monchi is asking interested teams to pay €70m (£60m), which is more than what Real would be asking for Varane.

However, Kounde, who has also been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal over recent weeks, is a promising young player, and the Red Devils are seriously looking at him as a backup option.

The France international has already expressed his desire to switch clubs this summer, so if United do make their move, it shouldn’t be hard to secure his signature.
