Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was not named in UEFA’s official team of the tournament for the European Championships.
The 26-year-old was overlooked in favour of Italy’s Leonardo Spinazzola, who missed the final after picking up an Achilles tendon injury.
Although United captain Harry Maguire was named in the eleven, along with three other Premier League players (Chelsea‘s Jorginho as well Manchester City pair Kyle Walker & Raheem Sterling), fans on Twitter were not happy with Shaw’s omission:
Shaw was robbed, did Jose pick the team?

The stats kind of tell you all you need to know. Shaw scored one goal and provided three assists during the tournament, while Spinazzola created just one goal, in the 2-1 win over Austria in the round of 16. There is really no excuse for leaving him out.
The fullback may have surprised some England supporters with his performances during the Euros but it wasn’t a shock for United fans, who have seen him play that way all season for his club.
