‘A Very Poor Man’s Prime Ozil’ ‘He’s Trying To Make Things Happen’ Fans Disagree On Arsenal Star’s Display Against Southampton

Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard got his third goal in as many games against Southampton at the weekend.

The Norwegian international could have easily had a couple of assists to his name as well, but there are still concerns over the playmaker’s lack of consistency.

Some fans on Twitter were critical about the number of times that Odegaard gave away the ball, while others believed that the midfielder put in a very good performance:

It has to be pointed out that Odegaard is only 22 years of age. He is not the finished article so expecting him to be perfect throughout the 90 minutes isn’t really fair.

The Norwegian’s job is to make things happen for his team, and that means he will force passes when the ball isn’t on at times. However, he is beginning to show signs that he can become the main fulcrum in the Gunners’ attack.

Odegaard was excellent around the opposition penalty box, for the most part, and he was at the heart of most of the team’s best attacking moments.
