Arsenal Expected To Be Challenged By Spurs For Brazilian Star Whose Price Tag Has Soared To 41.5M

Arsenal could have to see off a challenge from Tottenham and a number of other teams to sign Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, according to reports in Italy.

The Gunners are believed to be interested in the Brazilian but Spurs and Atletico Madrid are reportedly leading the race for the defender’s signature currently.

Newcastle, Leicester, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli are also keen on Bremer, and the amount of clubs pursuing the player has led to Torino increasing their asking price.

It was originally claimed that the 25-year-old would be let go for around €25m (£20.75m) this summer, but that is now likely to double to around €50m (£41.5m).

Arsenal’s interest in Bremer is probably dependent on what happens with Gabriel. It has been confirmed by reliable sources in the UK that Barcelona are interested in the centre-half, and there are now reports in Spain that suggest he is open to a move to the Camp Nou.
