Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus forward Paulo Dybala on a free transfer this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

Juve have confirmed that the Argentine, who has 32 caps for his country, will be let go at the end of the season when his contract expires.

The Gunners are just one of a number of teams who are believed to be pursuing Dybala, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan also in the mix.

Whether he would be a good addition to the squad, it is up for debate. The 28-year-old does prefer to play as a false nine so he could fit in to Mikel Arteta’s system. At the moment, Alexandre Lacazette does play quite deep, allowing Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka to play as inside forwards rather than as out-and-out wingers.

However, Dybala’s injury history is very concerning. The Argentinian international has missed 36 games with fitness problems over the last two seasons alone. You would have to question whether giving such a player a lucrative contract would be a good idea.
