Club Knocked Back THREE Bids For 30M Rated Brazilian Star Who Was On Arsenal’s Radar

Aston Villa rejected three offers for Douglas Luiz during the course of the January transfer window, according to reports in the UK.

Arsenal and Tottenham were both linked with the Brazilian and it is believed that Spurs were the last team to make a bid for the player on deadline day.

Luiz is said to be valued at around £30m, but his asking price is expected to drop when the window reopens in the summer as he will only have twelve months left on his contract at Villa Park.

The Midlands club have, so far, not opened talks over extending the former Manchester City player’s current deal so a departure at the end of the season looks likely.

Whether the Gunners will revisit their interest in Luiz, it remains to be seen. Mikel Arteta’s side will be in the market for a new midfielder, with Mohamed Elneny expected to leave the Emirates on a free transfer.

However, there is no guarantee that Luiz will be Arsenal’s top target with technical director Edu likely to be considering other options as well.
