Latest Arsenal Injury And Fitness Report: Updates On Lacazette, Tomiyasu, Partey And Tierney

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is a serious doubt for the Gunners’ upcoming fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Frenchman missed the defeat to Southampton on Saturday afternoon after picking up the virus and manager Mikel Arteta says the forward has yet to return a negative test.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is, however, expected to be back in full training ahead of Wednesday’s match at Stamford Bridge. The Japanese international hasn’t played since January due to a calf problem so he may only be fit enough for the bench to face Chelsea.

The prognosis on Thomas Partey’s thigh injury doesn’t look too promising, with Arteta suggesting that the midfielder may not be able to return before the end of the season.

It’s already been confirmed that Kieran Tierney won’t make another appearance this campaign. The left-back underwent knee surgery earlier this month and he will only make his comeback ahead of pre-season.
