Rio Ferdinand Makes Prediction About Gabriel Jesus That Should Excite Arsenal Fans

BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus will begin to score goals on a regular basis if he makes the switch to Arsenal.

The Brazilian’s representatives have reportedly held talks with the Gunners over the past few months, with an official bid from the London club now looking increasingly likely during the summer transfer window. Reacting to the news, Ferdinand claims that Jesus just needs to be playing regularly in order to become a prolific scorer again:

“You speak to players about him, they appreciate him because he puts a good workload in, he has got quality. I think if he plays consistently in a team like Arsenal, I think he gets you goals.”

It’s fair to say to Jesus has not quite hit the heights expected of him after bursting onto the scene with the Citizens in 2017. However, the 25-year-old’s goal record is by no means bad.

During the five full seasons he has spent at City, Jesus has never failed to hit double figures. In fact, the Brazilian international has scored over 20 in all competitions on two occasions. Ferdinand’s assessment of the player seems to be right on the money.
