Arsenal may consider appointing former Chelsea and Inter Milan head coach Antonio Conte if the Gunners’ form doesn’t improve under current manager Mikel Arteta, according to reports in Italy.
After the London club’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford on the opening day, there has been some unrest among the fanbase about the direction the club is going. Many supporters on Twitter would like Conte to be appointed but they can’t see it happening:

You know why it’s not true ? Because that’s the perfect scenario and we don’t do the right thing ?

Conte would sort things out no question. Edu would get exposed for a start.

It is even suggested that Conte could persuade his former striker Lautaro Martinez to join from Inter if he were to arrive at the Emirates but it does seem to be purely speculative reporting at this stage.
Arteta hasn’t been dealt a good hand in terms of the club’s poor transfer business this summer. The blame for that has to be pinned on technical director Edu, but the buck generally stops with the manager, and results will need to turn around in the coming weeks or the pressure will mount.
