Celtic, Rangers and Brentford are all interested in Rapid Vienna holding midfield player Dejan Ljubicic, according to reports in the English media.
The Austrian Under 21 international is out of contract at the end of next season and is said to be available for £2m this summer.
There was a mixed reaction to Celtic’s interest in Ljubicic on Twitter, with some thinking he would be a good addition, while others don’t see the need to sign another midfielder:
Replacement for N’tcham with big Fraser coming back and use boli as a sweetener to get this guy

We are swamped with midfielders. Can only imagine any or maybe all of the three will happen – Ntcham will be sold, they don’t think Sorro is any good and/or we’ll be using Bitton as a centre half this season again

Do we need a midfielder? A left back, maybe another striker and perhaps a goalkeeper. Too many midfielders as it is, we could do with unloading one or two that we have!

With Ismaila Soro having only been signed in January, a bid for a similar player would be a surprise considering Celtic’s depth in the middle of the park.
However, with Ljubicic also capable of playing at centre-back, it could also be the case that the Hoops’ recruitment team are considering him as someone who could play in a three-man defence. It will be interesting to see where the Austrian ends up this summer.
