Key Chelsea Star Now ‘Determined’ To Leave Stamford Bridge After Government Sanctions

Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger is “determined” to move clubs at the end of the season, with the sanctions imposed by the UK government effectively sealing his decision, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper claims that the German was always likely to leave Stamford Bridge anyway but, with the Blues now unable to offer him a contract extension, it has made things easier.

Rudiger has three teams that are actively trying to sign him. Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all in contention, with the latter two believed to be favourites to secure his services.

However, Tuttosport claim that Juve have “expressed interest” in the 29-year-old and they are “ready” to make their move if the defender is open to a return to Italy.

While it does appear that Rudiger’s future lies away from Chelsea. Things could yet change if the ownership situation is resolved quickly. After a takeover, there is a possibility that the new board would be more open to giving the player the wages he wants, but we shall see how things play out.
